Almost anybody you meet will know why exercise and fitness is important. Yes, it is equally important for both men and women. However, exercise for women is absolutely vital. The reason why it’s so vital for women is because of what the entirety of the female gender has gone through in the recent past. The female gender as a whole has gone through many centuries of inferiority, abuse, and oppression. Therefore, women need to practice an activity that instills the energy of empowerment.
According to dictionary.com, one of the definitions of empowerment is “the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights”. If you live in America, then technically, no matter who you are, you are considered free. Yet, somehow it seems as though we are enslaved to societal norms. Society says that women have to be dainty, soft, quiet, little, obedient, etc. People in general have a fear of not being accepted amongst their peers, so they’ll do almost anything to fit in. For many men, they will spend a lot of their time and money in the gym, trying to achieve an almost impossible Greek God-like physique. However, a lot of women will spend almost all their time and money on beauty products, brand name items, expensive clothing, almost anything that will help them fit into the female stereotype.
Of course it is okay to indulge sometimes but what good is it to indulge when you’re too unhealthy to enjoy whatever it is that you’re indulging in? How can one be happy when they do not have the energy for happiness?
Women all over the world are starting to understand that they have a choice to live happily and healthily. There may be sacrifices that need to be made in order to achieve health and happiness, however, these sacrifices come with a reward. Going down this journey of self-empowerment and freedom may be confusing and difficult, but that journey doesn’t have to be a struggle. Here at Slak CLE we offer guidance in that aspect.
We have started a class called Female Fitness; a class that revolves around empowerment and confidence through women. Although the main goal of this class will be to enhance one’s health and fitness, the members of this class will walk out feeling more empowered to take control of their own life. This class is designed to also help women mentally and emotionally. Remember, this is your life, you have the power to choose how you want to live it.
