Success Starts in the Mind

Success is something we all want but many fail to achieve.

First thing we should do is define what success actually means. Success can take on many meanings and can vary in degree when we apply it to different situations and things. One man's/woman's success could another's failures.

Success by definition thanks to Merriam-Webster Dictionary is;1a : degree or measure of succeeding. b : favorable or desired outcome also : the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence. 2 : one that succeeds. 3 obsolete : outcome, result.

Webster defines it well by saying a "degree or measure of succeeding. We can stop there and work to understand that success is OUR measure of how well WE are succeeding.

What does that mean to you?

Your success is not determined by what "john or jane doe" is doing. Your success is determined by how much YOU are succeeding. In our lives we tend to measure our own success based on what someone else has done in their lives. In reality, that could be a benchmark or a goal, but it should never be a measure of YOUR own success.

Your success is completely and solely your responsibility.

The first step in taking control of your success is to never compare your success to others.

The second step is to figure out where you believe your "success" lives. What is "success" for you?

The third step is to develop a plan to get you to where "your success" is.

The fourth step is to implement your plan!

One of my all-time favorite books to help you along this journey is a book that was written in 1937 by Napoleon Hill. This book is a blueprint for you to begin this journey to "your success". This book will give you the foundational tools that will allow you to manifest what it is you believe you deserve.

Besides the book recommendation, the one thing to stress is your ability to believe that you deserve whatever success you desire. Make sure that you work consciously everyday to cement that belief into your daily routine, because without the belief, you will have no guidance system to get you where you want to go.
